I thrive on variety and our move towards a sustainable level of self-sufficiency means that there are always lots of opportunities to learn new skills and to be creative.

Today, in-between life coaching, managing the Living Grace Global Sangha, gathering spring nettles and making nettle pesto for lunch, I learnt how to lay 2 tonnes of concrete as a base for our new shed!

One of our mottoes is 'the more we can do ourselves, the less we need to earn' and who needs to pay gym fees when you can have a workout like this on a beautiful spring day?! Although I am definitely looking forward to a long restorative yoga session with @theyogaranger when the concrete is finished! When we first came to this garden 5 years ago it has a few beautiful big old trees, a swimming pool, and a lot of grass and neglected, overgrown shrubs.

Over the last 5 years we have been observing this small but abundant plot of land, creating a thriving organic potager, developing a lot of new growing areas which are now full of herbs, edibles, pollinators, and flowers. I have been doing everything in my power to create a really healthy soil on what is essentially a layer of leached out soil on top of rock. The soil is now thriving with life and today the garden is now bursting into life so I thought I would share a wee tour of the bottom south-west facing part of the garden. 🌸🌼🌷💐💗💃

During a walk in la Forêt de la Bessède this morning, I spotted this Processionary Caterpillar. It is notable for the behaviour of the caterpillars, which overwinter in tent-like nests high in pine trees, and which proceed through the woods in nose-to-tail columns, protected from predators by their severely irritating hairs.

The urticating hairs of the caterpillar larvae cause harmful (and in some cases allergic) reactions, in humans and other mammals. Luckily we saw them before the dogs stood on them!

It's a great time to do a little spring cleaning for your liver to boost it after the winter.

Over these 9 days, me and @eoinscolard are munching our way through 36 apples, a LOT of asparagus, Brussel sprouts, red cabbage, coriander, carrot, and dates, as well as juicing and drinking 2 crates of celery along with morning smoothies of wild blueberries, banana and dragonfruit. We do this not as some weird masochistic punishment but as part of our seasonal 369 liver rescue cleanse as outlined by @medicalmedium.

We started 3 years ago and each time we do it, it gets easier and easier because we learn how to better support ourselves from the previous ones and also because our livers are storing fewer and fewer heavy toxins so there is less to be released.

For a foodie like me, it is a challenge to have my diet restricted so much but the 9 days fly in and I always feel so great for doing it. I can almost hear my liver and whole digestive system saying THANK YOU! 💗💗💗💗💗

During my winter retreat ❄️ over the last 3 mo

During my winter retreat ❄️ over the last 3 months many new creative personal and professional projects have been bubbling up in me. It has been really wonderful to take the time to rest and simply allow these ideas to germinate in my consciousness over the dark, cold days of winter.

As we see happening in nature, now is the time for new growth to start to appear. These seedlings will grow over the spring then be ripe for harvest during summer ☀️ and autumn 🍂. This is exactly why I am now called to take the first gentle action steps on my new projects now...to sow the seeds (without knowing which ones will actually mature to fruition). 🌱🌱🌱

Finding joy in sowing the seeds for new projects and then gently tending to them over coming months is what it is all about. Of course, it is wonderful to see the flowers bloom 🌼, the veg ripen 🍅and the projects bear fruit, but the real joy is in being open to inspired action, following the wisdom of the ❤️ while mirroring the patience of the natural world which is never in a rush to get to the end goal. 🌼☀️💞🙏🙏❤️
